HK6 (the elite cemetery) Tomb 47 at Hierakonpolis is an oval-shaped grave located beneath the floor of the pillared chapel of HK6 Tomb 16. The site yielded the remains of two female individuals.
Individual 1: The Tall Woman
Osteological Condition: On the north side, the skeleton was found in near-perfect anatomical connection, except for the shattered skull and scattered arms.
Age & Stature: A female aged 20–30. Her height (1.65–1.75m) significantly exceeds the average (1.58m) of the contemporaneous HK43 (the non-elite cemetery) population.
Archaeological Context: Granules of powdered ochre were found on the floor, matting, and some of the linen covering the body, staining her feet bright red.
Individual 2: The Dwarf
Osteological Condition: Originally placed on the south side, her remains were completely displaced and found intermixed within various levels of the plundering pit and the tomb floor.
Physical Characteristics: Identified as a female, standing approximately 1.2m tall.
Pathology: Modern analysis indicates a unique form of dwarfism characterized by slender bones (atypical bone dysplasia), distinguishing her from cases of achondroplasia.
